DECT ULE: Clever Choice for IoT applications

AMSTERDAM – May 31 – June 1, 2017, B. Amsterdam, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The DECT Forum and the ULE Alliance organize their first DECT ULE Technology Summit. This two-day event includes the conference, workshops, the Smart Home Hackathon and the announcement of the 2017 DECT Awards.

From 2016 to 2022 the global connected home market segment is expected to grow with CAGR 14%*. Security, lighting and climate control applications are driving this growth. Despite the impressive growth rate, this market is still in the ‘early adopter’ stage. Relative high cost, technology fragmentation, privacy and security concerns are hampering even stronger growth.

To accelerate mass market adoption, the DECT Forum and the ULE Alliance developed ULE technology as an extension of DECT, the de-facto standard for residential and business Voice and Data communications. ULE technology transforms millions of existing DECT installations in homes and businesses into secure, cost-efficient and versatile gateways for the implementation of home automation, security and climate control scenarios in residential and enterprise environments.

Intelligent Sensor Networks Conference – Managing Aging Plants

Eindhoven – On May 23 at the Messe Düsseldorf Congress Center in Germany, the Intelligent Sensor Networks Conference will be held, focusing on Managing Aging Plants (MAP). The challenges posed by an aging plant cannot be seen in isolation as a simple economic equation balancing profit and loss to risk and safety; the situation is far more complex. Many of today’s managers do not have the academic background or the detailed engineering knowledge at their fingertips, which is essential to make the correct budgeting and strategy plans and keep facilities not only economically viable, but also productive and safe.

Similarly, many companies no longer have the skills and competencies in-house to tackle the problems that can be posed by an aging plant. When knowledge is not immediately at hand, being able to ask the right questions is vital. The aim of the event in Düsseldorf is to help industry professionals in ensuring facilities continue to compete successfully in the long-term.

3D Food Printing Conference to be held next week

MelbourneOn May 02, 2017, the 3D Food Printing Conference Asia-Pacific will take place at Monash University, Food Innovation Centre, Melbourne, Australia.

The opportunities for the Australian red meat industry from 3D printing technology will be a key focus of the upcoming 3D Food Printing Conference Asia-Pacific – to be held at Monash University, Melbourne next Tuesday, 2 May 2017.

The conference, supported by Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA), will feature a host of prominent local and international speakers to discuss the opportunities currently available and where the technology may assist the industry.

Topics being discussed during the conference include custom nutrition, food design, food components, hardware and software developments and business models.

The conference will also include demonstrations of 3D printed technology, including a cooking demonstration of 3D printed red meat.

MLA’s Michael Lee, who is speaking at the conference, said 3D food printing represents an exciting opportunity to add value to the red meat industry by utilising secondary cuts, trim and by products that are currently not utilised fully.  These products can be used in areas such as the aged care sector , where red meat that is high in protein and nutrition can be presented in a form that is easy to chew and appetizing.

3D Printing Technology for Value-Added Red Meat

Melbourne – On May 02, 2017, the 3D Food Printing Conference Asia-Pacific will take place at Monash University, Food Innovation Centre, Melbourne, Australia.

3D food printing will be the focus of a major conference to be held in Australia in May – and in particular the opportunities this technology has for the red-meat sector.

The 3D Food Printing Conference Asia-Pacific, supported by Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) and organised by Jakajima, will bring expert speakers in the 3D printing field together to discuss the future potential of this technology.

The Asia-Pacific Conference follows a similar successful event organised by Jakajima in Europe in 2016, which heard about the existing uses of 3D technology, as well as what future opportunities may exist.

As with every 3D printing application, there is a lot of hype around 3D food printing. Not only are large companies utilising the technology, but many start-ups are introducing 3D Food printers as part of their set-ups. Last year’s conference in Europe heard about how people can already now eat 3D printed dinners in restaurants.
